ARCA Menards Series/ARCA Menards Series West at Phoenix Raceway: Pre-race Notes

  • The General Tire 150 at Phoenix Raceway will be the second race of the 2024 ARCA Menards Series season; it will also serve as the season opener for the ARCA Menards Series West. The race will count towards both series championships and the driver who wins will be credited with a win in both series.
  • The race will be the 1555th in ARCA Menards Series history and the 1017th in ARCA Menards Series West history.
  • The General Tire 150 will be the fifth ARCA Menards Series race at Phoenix Raceway. Previous winners include Chandler Smith (2020), Ty Gibbs (2021), Taylor Gray (2022), and Tyler Reif (2023).
  • The race will also be the 52nd ARCA Menards Series West race at Phoenix Raceway dating back to the first in November 1977, won by Cale Yarborough.   • The 43 drivers entered represent a record high for the ARCA Menards Series at Phoenix Raceway and the first time since 2011 40 entries for an ARCA Menards Series West race at Phoenix Raceway have been filed.
  • Tyler Reif’s victory last year marked the first time an ARCA Menards Series West driver scored a win in an ARCA Menards Series/ARCA Menards Series West combination event.
  • The ARCA Menards Series qualifying record at Phoenix Raceway was set by Sammy Smith in 2022 at 26.912 seconds/133.769 miles per hour. The ARCA Menards Series West qualifying record, also set by Sammy Smith in 2022, is 26.570 seconds/135.491 miles per hour.
  • Four female drivers are entered – Amber Balcaen, Toni Breidinger, Isabella Robusto, and Danica Dart – and drivers from four countries and 20 states are entered. Last year’s ARCA Menards Series runner-up Andres Perez is from Mexico, ARCA Menards Series West veteran Takuma Koga is from Japan, and Balcaen and David Smith are from Canada. California leads the way with 12 drivers entered.
  • The ARCA Menards Series race record at Phoenix Raceway is 1 hour, 46 minutes, 46 seconds/86.409 miles per hour, set by Taylor Gray in March 2022.
