Fast Start… Daniel Dye has continued to show his growth in the first two races of the 2024 season. Through two events, Dye has advanced to the second round of qualifying, including last week Atlanta Motor Speedway (AMS) where he set a time of 31.81 seconds and earned his first career pole in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series (NCTS). Dye is readying himself for his second start at Las Vegas Motor Speedway (LVMS) on Friday evening with a fresh NAPA Nightvision paint scheme on board his No. 43 Chevrolet in hopes to continue his fast start.
Move on Up… Dye enters LVMS with one prior start and fresh off his career-best weekend. Not only did Dye capture his first-career pole award, but he earned his first top-10 finish of the season at AMS with a ninth-place effort. The result was Dye’s second top-10 in his last five races dating back to Talladega Superspeedway last fall. The first two races have seen Dye break into the provisional playoff grid as he currently sits 10th in the NCTS standings, thanks to collecting points in two of the season’s first four stages. The Floridian looks to continue his upward trend in “Sin City” and aims to tally his first top-10 result at LVMS.
MHR at Las Vegas … The 20-year-old led MHR’s quartet in qualifying last week at AMS and is focused to continue the team’s strong results from Las Vegas last season. His current MHR teammate Christian Eckes scored a sixth-place finish last March at LVMS while Jake Garcia also posted a 10th-place result in the event. Dye is on pace to add to those numbers on Friday night, as he has finished a combined 16 positions higher through the first two races this season versus his rookie campaign in 2023.
Tune In… Coverage from LVMS begins on FOX Sports 1 Friday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. ET with practice and qualifying. NASCAR Raceday begins at 8:00 p.m. ET followed by the green flag at 9:00 p.m. ET. Daniel Dye Quote:
On entering Las Vegas with momentum:
“It was great to get a top-10 last week so early in the season. Getting that first pole was a big deal too. We’ve all had fast trucks to start the year and everyone’s been doing a great job at MHR. Our NAPA Nightvision team has some momentum and I’m excited to try to keep it going this week in Las Vegas. We’ve done a good job at getting some stage points in both races, and that’s helped us get to 10th in points. We’ll try to keep it going this week and stay consistent.”
