Kevin Camper Named Speedway Motorsports’ Chief Commercial Officer

Longtime Speedway Motorsports executive Kevin Camper, who has led the corporate sales team to exceed expectations in revenue and sponsorship generation, has been named Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer for Speedway Motorsports .

In his expanded role, Camper will lead Speedway Motorsports in commercial strategy across all 11 of the company’s premier sports entertainment venues and its Performance Racing Network subsidiary, while also focusing on retention, revenue growth and development initiatives. Each of these elements work together to drive business and market growth across Speedway Motorsports properties.

“Kevin’s passion for excellence and his creative business sense make him the perfect fit for this expanded role,” said Speedway Motorsports’ President and CEO Marcus Smith. “He has a longstanding record of success that has solidified Speedway Motorsports as an industry leader in the entertainment space and I look forward to what the future will bring with Kevin’s continued leadership.”

Under Camper’s guidance, Speedway Motorsports has seen significant growth in new categories and opportunities for commercial revenue. The company continues to raise the bar in NASCAR event entitlements, opening the door for growth in corporate business in both sanctioned and non-traditional events.

Recent improvements to Speedway Motorsports’ facilities across its properties, including major projects like Sonoma Raceway’s Turn 11 hospitality, have been important to Camper and his team, as they offer non-traditional uses of premier spaces and company assets year-round. With Camper’s direction and support, each of the 11 properties plays host to a variety of non-traditional events annually, from music festivals to car shows to corporate entertainment and driving schools. In 2023, Texas Motor Speedway’s Hwy 30 Music Fest and Charlotte Motor Speedway’s 2023 Super Motocross World Championships were among the new events added to the plethora of entertainment options at Speedway Motorsports venues.

“The success we have seen at Speedway Motorsports in revenue, commercial strategy and development is all possible due to the tremendous cooperation amongst our teammates and our continued investment to upgrade our facilities,” Camper said. “Each member of our team works hard to bring remarkable events to the fans and to maximize value for our corporate sponsors day in and day out. It is through them that each step of growth is possible, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to take this role in supporting our efforts to grow and expand moving forward.”

A graduate of Liberty University, Camper’s professional experience includes consumer ticketing and corporate sales positions with the Texas Rangers and Professional Bull Riders Association and leadership positions in ticketing and corporate sales at Speedway Motorsports’ Texas Motor Speedway.

In 2011, Camper was named senior vice president of sales and marketing for Las Vegas Motor Speedway. At LVMS he was instrumental in forming a cornerstone partnership with the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority that helped secure a second NASCAR Cup Series event weekend for the facility. He also spearheaded the development of major events such as the Electric Daisy Carnival, Red Bull Air Race World Championships and numerous corporate events.

In 2019, he was named to his most recent role as Speedway Motorsports Chief Sales Officer and in 2021, Camper received the O. Bruton Smith Award, the highest individual honor given to a Speedway Motorsports team member.

Camper and his wife, Meredith, reside in Charlotte and have two children; son, Chase; and daughter, Emma.
