“My team gave me a fast Whelen Chevrolet today at Martinsville Speedway. I hate what happened at the end with Austin (Hill). Given the situation, I knew we needed a win to advance and race for a championship. I moved the No. 21 up off the bottom lane but felt like I did it fairly. I beat him in Turns 3 and 4, and then moved him again Turns 1 and 2. The goal was for me to win and have him run second or third with a chance of still being in. I didn’t even know the No. 7 car was there. Everyone was running into each other at the end and that’s what the end of this particular race has turned into the last few years. To leave here with a second-place finish is a positive and we will carry the momentum to finish this season off strong.”
