“Everyone on this No. 21 Richard Childress Racing team should keep their heads held high for all that we have accomplished this season. We had a shot to win the race in our Global Industrial Camaro and that is something to be proud of. My guys deserve to be in the Championship Four just as much as those who made it. It’s a frustrating end to our race. On the last restart, I spun the tires and overdrove the entry into Turn 1 because I knew the No. 20 had a run on the inside. I didn’t feel like I was given a fair chance there at the end by Sheldon (Creed) though. The most unfortunate part is that neither RCR car advanced. While we won’t be competing for a championship at Phoenix Raceway, our team will keep our heads down and try to cap off the season with another victory.”
