Nick Cannon named honorary pace car driver for South Point 400

Las Vegas Motor Speedway

Nick Cannon has built an impressive resume in his 20 years of entertainment. On Sunday, Oct. 15, he will add honorary pace car driver to that list as he will be pacing the field for the start of the South Point 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Cannon, a California native, is a man with many roles including father of 12, TV/radio host, comedian, actor, producer, rapper, writer, director, DJ, philanthropist and children’s book author.

Cannon will join a long list of distinguished figures that have paced the field for NASCAR events in Las Vegas including current Governor of Nevada Joe Lombardo, Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams, award-nominated actor, director and producer Justin Hartley, former NFL standout Marshawn Lynch and NHRA star Antron Brown.

“I have been a fan of fast cars since I was a kid,” Cannon said. “NASCAR delivers a unique experience and thrill unlike anything I’ve experienced. I’m honored to be invited to be the pace car driver for the Las Vegas NASCAR weekend. It’s one of those bucket list experiences I’m looking forward to checking off.”

Cannon is currently the executive producer and host of Fox’s hit TV series The Masked Singer and the host and executive producer of The Daily Cannon — a new morning show hosted live on Amp every Monday through Friday. Cannon and Kevin Hart are the creators, hosts, and executive producers of E!’s newest series, Celebrity Prank Wars, which scored the highest premiere ratings for E! Network since 2021. He is also the creator and executive producer in partnership with Live Nation for the Future Superstar Tour, headed to BET this October as a TV show.

For the second year in a row, LVMS’ annual Fall NASCAR weekend will offer fans a FREE Friday that will kick off with a NASCAR Cup Hauler Parade around LVMS on Friday morning, October 13, and follow with Xfinity practice and qualifying later that day. Friday racing action will conclude with The Star Nursery 150 ARCA Menards Series West race at the iconic Bullring, where race fans can attend for as low as $30, and kids 12 and under can attend for free. Saturday brings Cup Series qualifying followed by the Alsco 302 Xfinity Series race.
