ARCA Menards Series at Kansas Speedway: Sioux Chief Fast Track 150 Post-race Notes

  • Connor Mosack led 64 of the race’s 100 laps to score his first career ARCA Menards Series win by taking the victory in Friday’s Sioux Chief Fast Track 150 at Kansas Speedway. Mosack becomes the 357th driver to score at least one ARCA Menards Series win dating to the series’ inception in 1953.
  • Mosack’s win is the third ARCA Menards Series victory for Joe Gibbs Racing in 2023; the team has also won twice with William Sawalich driving.
  • Carson Kvapil made his ARCA Menards Series debut driving the No. 28 Chevrolet for Pinnacle Racing Group. Kvapil finished second, 3.202 seconds behind Mosack at the finish.
  • Three different drivers have made their ARCA Menards Series debut in 2023 driving for Pinnacle Racing Group, and all of them have finished either first or second. Luke Fenhaus won in his debut at Iowa Speedway, Connor Zillisch finished second after a last-corner nudge pushed him from the lead at Watkins Glen International, and Carson Kvapil finished second at Kansas Speedway.
  • Toni Breidinger achieved her best career finish in third. Breidinger has scored three top-five finishes this season and is the eighth female driver to finish third or higher in an ARCA Menards Series race.
  • Lavar Scott lost a lap on pit road but had the fastest car on track at the end which allowed him to race his way back to fourth at the finish. Scott has four top-five finishes – including three fourth-place finishes at Daytona International Speedway, Iowa Speedway, and Kansas Speedway – in five ARCA Menards Series starts in 2023.
  • Jake Finch scored his first career top-five finish in fifth.
  • Christian Rose finished a career-best sixth, which allowed him to leap ahead of Frankie Muniz to third place in the ARCA Menards Series championship standings.
  • Scott Melton scored his career-best finish in seventh.
  • Dean Thompson finished second at Kansas Speedway in April and led 35 lap on Friday, but faded to eighth at the finish.
  • Hometown favorite Mandy Chick finished ninth in her first ARCA Menards Series start since the race at Kansas Speedway in April. It’s her second top-ten finish of the season, accompanying her fifth-place finish at Daytona International Speedway in the season opener.
  • Andy Jankowiak rebounded from pit road issues at the midway point to finish tenth. Jankowiak has finished among the top ten in five of his eight starts in 2023.
  • The top three drivers in ARCA Menards Series points coming into the Sioux Chief Fast Track 150 all finished outside the top 15. Points leader Jesse Love made contact with the wall at lap 25. The crash ended his day early and resulted in a 19th-place finish. Third-place Frankie Muniz made contact with the wall on lap 49, leaving his car heavily damaged and dropping him to 18th at the finish. Perez also made contact with the wall, resulting in a 17th-place finish.
  • The next race for the ARCA Menards Series is the Bush’s Beans 200 at Bristol Motor Speedway. The race is a combination event with the ARCA Menards Series East, and will be that series’ championship event. The race, set for Thursday, September 14, will go green shortly after 6 pm ET and will be televised live on FS1. The race will also be broadcast on select affiliates of the MRN Radio Network nationwide.
