A new award for Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series competitors in 2023 will be determined solely by fan vote.

Deatherage Opticians has signed as the title sponsor of the all-new Most Popular Driver Contest. Voting will open on June 1, 2023, after the Top-15 in the series standings are set as part of the Big River Steel Chase for the Championship-presented by ARP. Voting will continue through November 30, 2023.

The Deatherage Opticians Most Popular Driver will be announced during the annual Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Championship Awards Banquet on December 8, 2023. The Most Popular Driver will receive a $500 cash bonus and product certificate from Deatherage Opticians. 

In addition to the Most Popular Driver Contest, Deatherage Opticians will give the 10th place finisher in every feature event a $40 gift card towards the purchase of any eyewear or services. This contingency award is an added bonus to the racers that compete on the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series in 2023.

The 2023 season kicks off with a busy Georgia-Florida Speedweeks – featuring 13 events and three practice nights, at four unique venues, over the course of 17 days. The 2023 Georgia-Florida Speedweeks will run from January 25 through February 11 with visits to Golden Isles Speedway, Bubba Raceway Park, All-Tech Raceway, and East Bay Raceway Park.
