With the NFL playoffs heating up this weekend and the start of the NHRA 2023 Camping World Drag Racing Series around the corner, attention is rising on both sports. At the end of last year NHRA Top Fuel driver Justin Ashley was a guest on New York Giants David Tyree’s new podcast Catch the Moment to talk drag racing, football and performing at an elite level in sports and life. Ashley, the 28-year-old professional racecar driver and team owner shared what attracted him to the sport and how one of his goals is to one day leave the sport better than when he entered.
“It was an honor to talk with David on his Catch the Moment podcast last December,” said Ashley, who finished the 2022 season 4th in Top Fuel. “David made one of the most memorable catches in NFL history that ultimately led the New York Giants to victory in Super Bowl 42. He is the consummate professional on and off the field, having achieved success as an athlete, business owner and author. I enjoyed the opportunity to talk with him about many things, including NHRA drag racing and what makes our sport so special. I look forward to working with David in an effort to get him and his family to a race in 2023.”
Catch The Moment helps inspire others to find value in the process that leads to moments of significance. Each week Tyree creates a transparent dialogue that embraces the process that leads to a significant moment. He brings an inspiring message or guest that will provide listeners with the tools necessary to overcome obstacles in life, business, and relationships.
In addition to his success on the football field, David Tyree has also enjoyed a successful career off the field as well. After his retirement from the NFL as a player, he spent two years at NFL League Headquarters in NYC, working in the Player Engagement Department. David is making headway as an entrepreneur and sports analyst. Starting in 2021, he began co-hosting “Odds with Ends” on MSG alongside former Giants defensive end Mathias Kiwanuka. Tyree was drafted in the 6th round of the 2003 NFL Draft by the New York Giants (211 overall). Despite humble beginnings and personal challenges, he was named to the 2006 Pro Bowl and was responsible for making NFL history with what many consider to be the greatest catch in Super Bowl history.
