Cusick Motorsports Partners with Dreyer & Reinbold Racing for 2023 Indianapolis 500 Entry

Cusick Motorsports is proud to announce the team’s return to the Indianapolis 500 in 2023 alongside Dreyer & Reinbold Racing, with Stefan Wilson behind the wheel of the No. 24 Chevrolet-powered entry. The 107th Running of the Indianapolis 500 will mark Cusick Motorsports’ third year at The Greatest Spectacle in Racing and the first year partnered with Dreyer & Reinbold Racing. The effort will be further boosted with the announcement of CareKeepers, a new national company providing companionship and care, safe transportation services, medical alert devices and monitoring for seniors, as the co-primary partner.

Founded in 2021, Cusick Motorsports was created by Don Cusick as a business-to-business and marketing incubator—an avenue to create meaningful relationships through motorsports. Cusick Motorsports will see several of its key partners return for 2023, including LOHLA SPORT, Gnarly Jerky, Sierra Pacific Windows, Jay Paul Company’s 181 Fremont and Mr. and Mrs. James Lowes. CareKeepers will join the effort as the co-primary partner, and Mosaic Animal Care Group, Romak Iron Works and The Thermal Club will also appear on the No. 24 entry.

Cusick Motorsports is excited to note that today’s announcement comes from the Thermal Club in California, the team’s headquarters and home track on the west coast. The Thermal Club will host NTT INDYCAR SERIES action for the first time in 2023 with pre-season testing taking place at the first-class racing resort in February.

“As soon as the checkered flag fell on the Indy 500 this year, we set out to find the best possible partner for the future,” said Don Cusick, Founder and CEO of Cusick Motorsports. “We have immense respect for what Dreyer & Reinbold Racing have done both on and off track over the years and quickly identified them as our ideal partner for this endeavor. We couldn’t be happier to partner with Dreyer & Reinbold Racing, along with several long-standing and new partners in CareKeepers, Sierra Pacific Windows, Jay Paul Company’s 181 Fremont, Gnarly Jerky, LOHLA SPORT, Romak Iron Works, Mosaic Animal Care, The Thermal Club and Mr. and Mrs. James Lowes. We’ve created a special relationship with our partners and Stefan Wilson over the last two years – joining forces with Dreyer & Reinbold Racing will have a significant impact as we move forward.”

Partnered with Cusick Motorsports since 2021, Wilson will step back into the driver’s seat in 2023, where the British driver is set to make his fifth Indianapolis 500 attempt. To date, the 33-year-old has a career-best finish of 15th at the 2018 Indianapolis 500 where he led with four laps remaining in the historic event. Earlier this year, Cusick Motorsports and Wilson entered the Rolex 24 at DAYTONA and earned a top-10 finish in the GTD class in their debut. Wilson’s racing resume also includes two Indy Lights wins, a top-10 finish in the 12 Hours of Sebring and he was the recipient of the 2007 McLaren Autosport BRDC Award.

“I’ve been very impressed with how hard Dreyer & Reinbold Racing has worked at and focused on the Indy 500,” said Wilson. “It’s such an honor for me to join them in partnership with Cusick Motorsports and work on our collective goal of trying to win the Indy 500. There’s a great opportunity here for us to all grow together. I hope this leads to more 500’s, and maybe even more races together. There’s history here with this team. Justin [Wilson, Stefan’s late older brother] spent two years with DRR back in 2010-2011 and secured podiums. I got to know Dennis (Reinbold), Brett De Bord and Chase Selman really well back then, so it just feels great to be rejoining them in a sense. I also have to say a big thank you to Don Cusick, who has put more faith in me than anybody else in my career. I’m honored to represent Cusick Motorsports and all our partners and will do my utmost to make the most of this fantastic opportunity.”

As a team tenured in the Indianapolis 500 and NTT INDYCAR SERIES, Dreyer & Reinbold Racing has been competing in the famed 500-mile event since 2000 and qualified 45 cars over its course of competition. Dreyer & Reinbold Racing and Stefan Wilson have a family tie together as Wilson’s late brother, Justin, drove as a full-time entry for the team in the 2010 and 2011 seasons in the IndyCar Series.

“I am excited about our new partnership with Cusick Motorsports and Stefan Wilson,” said Dennis Reinbold, Dreyer & Reinbold Racing team owner. “Stefan and Don Cusick have been enjoyable to work with and we are focused on achieving success on and off the track at the speedway. We are coming off top-10 finishes for the past two years and believe Stefan can replicate that and fight his way to the front.”

In May 2023, fans will see a new, national brand represented as the co-primary partner on the No. 24 entry: CareKeepers. CareKeepers provides caregiver referrals and placement, emergency medical alert devices with GPS monitoring, and special needs transportation services to individuals nationwide. CareKeepers brings over 30 years of experience and industry knowledge to help families understand all their options to determine the best course of action for their loved ones.

“We’re excited to accelerate our strategic growth in partnership with Stefan Wilson, Cusick Motorsports and Dreyer & Reinbold Racing,” said Gary Tennyson, CEO of CareKeepers. “There’s no better way to launch a company brand than with the attention given to the Indianapolis 500.  We’ve been partnering with Stefan for many years through some of our other portfolio companies and it’s been an absolute honor to work with a group that has true integrity and concern for the representation of our brands.  All our portfolio companies speed your access to healthcare, and there’s nothing more synonymous with speed than the Indianapolis 500.  We’re looking forward to the Month of May.”

CareKeepers’ goal is to allow seniors to retain their dignity and independence while remaining safe and comfortable in their homes. Through companionship and care, safe transportation services, and medical alert devices and monitoring, seniors can maintain the quality of life standard that they deserve. The CareKeepers’ mission is to provide you and your family the same quality of care that we would want for our loved ones at an affordable cost.

“It’s always an honor to bring a new company onboard as a partner, but even more so when it’s a partner that helps enable better lives for its customers,” said Wilson. “Having personally worked with the ownership group of CareKeepers for several years with one of their other brands, I can vouch for the difference they’ve made in the marketplace. I know CareKeepers will have the same effect and create better lives for seniors and their families alike.”

Partnership opportunities are still available for the 2023 Indianapolis 500. Touch base with Billy Morgan ([email protected]) to learn more about the opportunities available.

Wilson will get his first laps around the Indianapolis Motor Speedway inside the No. 24 Chevrolet entry for the Indy 500 Open Test in April 20-21, 2023, followed by Opening Day practice for the 107th Running of the Indianapolis 500 on May 16, 2023.
