Brand South Africa, established to help create a positive and compelling brand image for South Africa in trade, tourism, and investment, will appear and have representation for the first time in both the NASCAR Cup Series and the NASCAR XFINITY Series.
As part of their 15-race partnership with JD Motorsports during the 2022 season, Brand South Africa will first be featured as an associate partner on the No. 6 JD Motorsports Chevrolet Camaro with Ryan Vargas piloting the XFINITY car in the Wawa 250 Powered by Coca-Cola.
Joining Live Fast Motorsports on Sunday for the 64th Annual Coke Zero Sugar 400 as an associate partner, Brand South Africa will be showcased with BJ McLeod behind the wheel of his No. 78 Ford Mustang. Additionally, Brand South Africa will also have strong representation during the Daytona weekend.
“Brand South Africa is excited to grow our involvement in the NASCAR series at the world-class Daytona International Speedway venue,” says Brand South Africa North America Country Head Mudunwazi Baloyi. “The Wawa 250 & Coke Zero Sugar 400 events mark the first time that the Brand South Africa logo will appear on both the NASCAR XFINITY Series car of JD Motorsports and the No. 78 Live Fast Motorsports NASCAR Cup Series car driven by BJ McLeod within the same weekend.”
“In addition to having our logo on the cars, we are thrilled to have a number of guests attending the races from South Africa and South African-owned businesses as we look to strengthen relationships within motorsports and business,” says Baloyi. “With the potential of Formula 1 returning to South Africa in 2023, and international automotive manufacturers using South Africa as a base for production and assembly plants, we believe that by promoting South Africa through the NASCAR series, we are helping to change people’s perception of the country and make it attractive for investment, trade, and tourism opportunities.”
