After a three-race run in her Flav-R-Pac livery, Brittany Force is back in the black and green of her Monster Energy dragster for the Menards NHRA Nationals at Heartland Motorsports Park. The Monster Energy / Flav-R-Pac Chevrolet team enter the weekend in the Top Fuel points lead and as the defending event champions.
With three more races remaining before the points are adjusted for the Countdown to the Championship, Force is poised to become the first driver other than Steve Torrence to win the regular season championship since 2016. Bigger picture, Force and the Monster Energy / Flav-R-Pac team are focused on becoming just the fourth woman in NHRA pro drag racing history to win multiple championships (after Shirley Muldowney, Erica Enders and Angelle Sampey). They’re on the right track with four wins and five No. 1 qualifiers already this season.
“Heartland Motorsports Park in Topeka is next on the list for our Monster Energy team and we’re ready to get there after a week off,” Force said. “We have the points lead after a pretty successful weekend in Seattle. We earned a No. 1 qualifier and made a final round appearance. With only a few races left until the Countdown begins, our goal is to keep the lead. We are looking for a solid weekend and picking up as many points as we can.”
The defending champion in the Menards NHRA Nationals after winning from the No. 1 qualifying position and sharing the victory for the first time with her dad, John Force, Brittany is trying to win five races in a single season for the first time in her career. The last time she won as many four tour events in a season was 2017, the year she won the championship.
