ARCA Menards Series West at Irwindale – NAPA Auto Parts 150 Presented by the West Coast Stock Car Hall of Fame Notes

  • Jake Drew scored his third consecutive ARCA Menards Series West victory in the NAPA Auto Parts 150 Presented by The West Coast Stock Car Hall of Fame. Drew won the General Tire Pole Award in the combined practice/qualifying session earlier in the day and then led every lap on his way to the win.
  • Sunrise Racing led every lap the West Series ran at Irwindale Speedway in 2022. In March, Tanner Reif started from the pole and led every lap while his teammate Jake Drew did the same in the July race. Reif finished seventh on Saturday.
  • Drew has finished in the top five in each of the six West Series races to this point of the season, and he’s the only driver to have completed each of the 709 laps of competition in 2022.
  • Both Irwindale races in 2022 went into overtime. The March race was extended to 153 laps while the July race was extended to 154 laps.
  • Cole Moore tied his best career ARCA Menards Series West finish with another runner-up result. Coincidentally, his other runner-up finish came earlier in the season at Irwindale.
  • Former Irwindale Speedway track champion Trevor Huddleston finished third, his best finish of 2022 and his 44th career top-ten finish. Huddleston was forced to pit for a flat tire within the final 50 laps of the race while running second, but was able to quickly work his way back to third at the finish.
  • Kyle Keller finished fourth, his first top-five finish since he finished fifth at The Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway last October. Keller’s finish matches his best career finish, also set at The Bullring in 2020.
  • Jake Finch made his West Series debut driving for his father James Finch’s Phoenix Racing team and finished sixth. Phoenix Racing has won ten times in the ARCA Menards Series over the years, with drivers Jeff Purvis, Andy Hillenburg, and Casey Roderick.
  • Sebastian Arias qualified a career-best fourth and scored his second career top-ten finish in eighth, tying his previous career best finish also set earlier this season at Irwindale.
  • Amber Slagle finished ninth, her best career West Series finish. She finished tenth at Kern County Raceway Park in April.
  • Todd Souza finished tenth after getting tangled with Joey Iest late in the race. Souza dropped from second in the series standings to fourth.
  • Jake Drew now has a 45-point advantage over Cole Moore in the ARCA Menards Series West championship standings. Moore jumped two positions on the standings with his runner-up finish, leapfrogging past Tanner Reif in third, and Todd Souza, who dropped from second to fourth. PJ Pedroncelli jumped one position to fifth.
  • The next race on the ARCA Menards Series West schedule at Evergreen Speedway will be the 1000th race in West Series history dating back to the first race at Oakland Speedway on March 28, 1954. That race was won by Dick Rathmann, his only career West Series win. The Evergreen 150 at Evergreen Speedway is set for Saturday, August 20 at 9:30 pm ET/6:30 pm PT and will be streamed live on FloRacing.
