After a very positive debut season in the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series, Italian team Double V Racing is poised to take the next step with the addition of young Austrian talent Patrick Schober. The reigning Austrian Formula 4 champion, nicknamed “Young Gun”, will pilot the back-and-yellow #27 Ford Mustang in EuroNASCAR 2, competing for the Rookie Trophy and the overall classification. “I can’t wait to race with Double V Racing. I know there will be plenty of good and experienced drivers in the championship, but I’m here to win. My goal will also be the Rookie title and I’ll do my best to achieve it,” said 17-year-old Schober. Double V Racing made its EuroNASCAR debut in 2021 with the #27 Ford Mustang. The Italian organization from Modena brought Pierluigi Veronesi to the 7th place in the EuroNASCAR 2 classification, earning two top-5s and seven top-10s. Double V Racing Team Manager Francesco Vignali said: “Patrick’s ambition is the same as ours, we can’t wait to get started with this new season together. We will finally be a totally independent team, with a unique approach to the series and a lot of will to improve. We’ll give Patrick all the support we can to always put him in the condition to get the best from himself and our #27 Mustang”. For Double V Racing the first stop of the 2022 season in the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series will be in Spain at Valencia’s Circuit Ricardo Tormo on May 14-15. All the action from the NASCAR GP Spain will be streamed live on the EuroNASCAR social media profiles – Youtube, Facebook and Twitch – as well as on Motorsport.tv. NWES PR |
