No. 19 Bass Pro Shops Toyota Camry News and Notes
- TRUEX AT KANSAS: Martin Truex Jr. is a two-time NASCAR Cup Series winner at Kansas Speedway after sweeping the track’s races during his 2017 championship season. Eight of Truex’s 13 top-10 finishes at Kansas have come in the past nine trips to the track, including four consecutive top-10 finishes. Earlier this season, Truex and the No. 19 team finished sixth at the 1.5-mile tri-oval.
- TEXAS RECAP: Truex finished 25th after being involved in a late-race crash in last Sunday’s race at Texas Motor Speedway. He spent much of the day running just outside the top 10 before the misfortune ended his day prematurely.
- HONOR A CANCER HERO: More than 100 cars across the NASCAR Cup Series, NASCAR Xfinity Series, NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (Martinsville) and ARCA Menards Series will feature the names of a cancer hero above the driver’s window as part of the Martin Truex Jr. Foundation’s Honor a Cancer Hero fundraiser. The No. 19 Camry will have Truex’s longtime partner Sherry Pollex’s name above the driver’s window. Pollex is a three-time stage 3c ovarian cancer survivor after first being diagnosed in 2014. She is still battling cancer today but remains an active member of the foundation’s efforts giving hope to so many others.
- BASS PRO SHOPS: A longtime supporter of Truex and NASCAR, Bass Pro Shops will be featured as the primary sponsor of the No. 19 Camry for Sunday’s race at Kansas Speedway. Bass Pro Shops is North America’s premier outdoor and conservation company. Founded in 1972 when avid young angler Johnny Morris began selling tackle out of his father’s liquor store in Springfield, Missouri. Today the company provides customers with unmatched offerings spanning premier destination retail, outdoor equipment manufacturing, world-class resort destinations and more.

Talk about the position you are in after the trouble in Texas…
“It’s obviously not the position you want to be in, but we’re not out of it. We have two shots to win at tracks we’ve had success in the past. There’s an outside chance of making it on points, but you can’t count on that with how strong the teams we are racing are. At the end of the day, I’m not going to give up and our team isn’t going to give up, so we’re going to do all that we can these next two weeks and see what happens.”
