  • TRUEX AT TEXAS: Martin Truex Jr. owns five top-five finishes and 17 top-10s in 31 career NASCAR Cup Series starts at Texas Motor Speedway. In the most recent points race at the track last October, Truex led 53 laps and finished second. Earlier this year, Truex finished 13th in the NASCAR All-Star Race at Texas.
  • ROUND OF 12 RECAP: Truex advanced to the Round of 8 for the fifth consecutive season and sixth time in the past seven years. He started the Round of 12 with a workmanlike fourth-place finish at Las Vegas and then finished 12th when rain ended the Talladega race early. Last Sunday, Truex and the No. 19 team played their strategy to earn as many stage points as possible and ultimately finished 29th after being spun out late in the race.
  • 1.5-MILE SUCCESS: Truex’s 10 top-10 finishes in the last 11 races on 1.5-mile tracks are tied with Kyle Busch for the best in the series.
  • BASS PRO SHOPS: A longtime supporter of Truex and NASCAR, Bass Pro Shops will be featured as the primary sponsor of the No. 19 Camry for Sunday’s race at Texas Motor Speedway. Bass Pro Shops is North America’s premier outdoor and conservation company. Founded in 1972 when avid young angler Johnny Morris began selling tackle out of his father’s liquor store in Springfield, Missouri. Today the company provides customers with unmatched offerings spanning premier destination retail, outdoor equipment manufacturing, world-class resort destinations and more.
  • JGR AT TEXAS: Joe Gibbs Racing has earned nine NASCAR Cup Series wins at Texas Motor Speedway, including Kyle Busch’s victory at the track last October. In 124 combined starts at Texas, the organization has tallied 34 top-five finishes, 58 top-10s and 2,189 laps led. Carl Edwards, Denny Hamlin, and Tony Stewart join Busch on the list of drivers who have taken JGR to victory lane at Texas.
  • TUNE IN: Coverage of this weekend’s NASCAR Cup Series race at Texas Motor Speedway begins Sunday at 2 p.m. ET on NBC, PRN Radio and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.

Martin Truex Jr., Driver of the No. 19 Bass Pro Shops Toyota Camry

How do you feel going into the Round of 8?

“I feel good about it. It’s so hard to tell anymore. With the 550 package, you just never know. You could be the best car all day long and finish 15th or 20th. We’ve done good at all three tracks in the past. We’ve won races at Kansas and Martinsville, so we’ll just go do what we can and see where we end up.”
