No. 19 Toyota Racing Toyota Supra News and Notes:

  • XFINITY SERIES RETURNS TO MARTINSVILLE:  Martinsville Speedway is the smallest track on the NASCAR circuit nestled in the mountains of southern Virginia with a lot of history.  It’s a tough paperclip oval, but with crew chief Jeff Meendering at the helm and Toyota Racing on board the No. 19 Toyota team is focused on improving on their ninth-place finish from last year.  The hunt for the unique Grandfather Clock trophy starts now.
  • JONES AT MARTINSVILLE: This will be Jones’ second trip to Martinsville in the Xfinity Series and the second for the Xfinity Series since 2006 on the historic short track.   Jones and crew chief Meendering will be focusing all week on preparation at the TRD simulator, iRacing and digging deep into their notebook. Jones and the 19 team are proud to be sporting the Toyota Racing paint scheme this weekend and Jones knows he must be aggressive and mentally tough to finish in the top-five and ultimately fight for a win there.
  • JGR AT MARTINSVILLE SPEEDWAY: JGR has 5 total starts at Martinsville Speedway in the NXS, earning one win, two top-five finishes, and five top-10 finishes.  The team has an average start of 10.8 and an average finish of 5.6. Harrison Burton has JGR’s only win.
  • RACE INFO: Cook Out 250 at Martinsville Speedway (.526-mile) begins at 8:00 p.m.ET on Friday, April 9, 2021.  The race will be broadcast live on FS1, SiriusXM Channel 90 and MRN Radio.

From the Cockpit:

Brandon Jones: “We are coming back after a couple weekends off from racing, but not from our preparation and motivation. We are digging deep into our notes from last year’s XFINITY race and even looking at Harrison’s (Burton) notes from his win there last season. We have been using the TRD simulator for this unique short track to get us prepared for the race under the lights this Friday.  This is a Dash4Cash race which is huge for the Xfinity Series and our Toyota team. Martinsville is a really tough racetrack and presents its challenges. We ran top-10 for our first Xfinity start last year and our focus is to stay out of trouble and bring home that grandfather clock. This No. 19 Toyota team will fight hard and concentrate on the task at hand, getting the best results we can for Toyota.”
