Bret Holmes and the No. 23 Holmes ll Excavation Chevrolet team finished fourth in the ARCA Menards Series season-finale event at Kansas Speedway on Friday night. Holmes started the 100-lap affair from the sixth position and immediately reported a loose-handling condition developing on his red Chevrolet. Crew chief Shane Huffman utilized the first caution of the night to bring Holmes down pit road to the attention of the No. 23 pit crew. After receiving four fresh tires, fuel and a round of chassis adjustments, Holmes returned to the racing surface. A few laps later, Holmes reported to the team that the changes were positive and maneuvered into the fourth position. With laps winding down, the Munford, Ala., native remained in the fourth spot, collecting his eighth top-five finish of the 2019 season. Holmes finishes out the season third in the championship point standings.

Start – 6th        Finish – 4th      Points Position – 3rd

BRET HOLMES QUOTE:“We started off the race pretty loose and battled with handling until the first caution. When we pitted, Shane (Huffman, crew chief) made a great call with a big adjustment. We were on the rails after that. We made it up to the fourth spot, and that’s where we stayed until the end of the race. I wish we had one more pit stop to help the car a little bit more. I feel like we would have been contending for the win, if we had a chance to pit again. I can’t express how proud I am of this season and how far this little team has come.”
