NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series rookie Gus Dean (@gusdean) will bookend the ARCA Menards Series season for Win-Tron Racing by competing in Friday night’s ARCA Kansas 150 at Kansas Speedway.
Dean, the Bluffton, S.C. native will make his fourth ARCA start of the year and seek his third ARCA victory in the 20th ARCA Menards Series race the season. Earlier this year, he made starts at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway, Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway and Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway respectively.
Before his graduation to the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series, Dean spent the 2017 and 2018 seasons driving the No. 32 entry for Kevin Cywinski’s Mooresville, N.C.-based team where the duo became a weekly threat in ARCA competition with Dean returning Win-Tron Racing to Victory Lane at Elko (Minn.) Speedway last summer.
“I’m really looking forward to this opportunity to run the ARCA race with Win-Tron Racing,” said Dean. “Kevin (Cywinski) and my crew chief Jamie (Jones) have been an instrumental part of my racing career as I’ve progressed and anytime we get the chance to compete in a race together – we have one goal in mind, winning.”
Kansas Speedway is the home of Dean’s Win-Tron Racing debut during the 2016 season and eyes his third ARCA Menards Series victory overall in the season finale.
“Kansas Speedway is such a fast race track, but I enjoy racing there,” added Dean. “We had a super competitive car last October but unfortunately didn’t get the finish we deserved.
“We’re bringing the same car we raced at Charlotte in May and it was fast. I think we have a good opportunity to put ourselves in a position to win the race on Friday night and end the ARCA year on a high note.”
In his most recent ARCA race, Dean finished third – his career-best at Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway in two starts. In all, it was the 25-year-old’s second top-10 finish of the year on the heels of a sixth-place result at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway in April.
“We started off the year by contending for the win at Daytona, had good presence at Talladega and we’re back again fighting for the win at Charlotte. Everyone is excited to put the band back together one more time in 2019 and we all look forward to making the best of it.”

Dean will carry additional support from Baker Distributing Company, CAB Installers and LG Air Conditioning Technologies in his 51st career start. “Without them, I wouldn’t have this chance, and I want to thank them personally with a celebration in Victory Lane. That would be perfect.”
Win-Tron Racing car owner Kevin Cywinski says the team is optimistic about their chances for Friday night’s race – but believes his driver will step up to the plate and deliver a good showing.
“We always look forward to having Gus (Dean) behind the wheel,” sounded Cywinski. “Gus is a talented race car driver and he has shown that time and time again in our Win-Tron Racing ARCA cars. We almost got ourselves a win at Charlotte, so we’re approaching Kansas with some unfinished business.
“I’m confident Jamie (Jones) and Gus will show their potential in practice and hopefully we can put this Win-Tron Racing team back in the winner’s circle in the final race of the season.”
The ARCA Kansas 150 (100 laps | 150 miles) is the 20th of 20 races on the 2019 ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards schedule. Practice begins Fri., Oct. 18 with a hour and 55-minute session planned from 12:00 p.m. – 1:50 p.m. Group qualifying is set for later in the day at 5:00 p.m. The race in the 67th consecutive ARCA season is set to take the green flag later in the day shortly after 7:30 p.m. The event will be televised live on FOX Sports 2 (FS2), while ARCARacing.com will stream live timing and scoring throughout the day’s festivities.
