Give a little! Talladega Superspeedway’s 14th Annual Laps for Life Blood Drive Set for Aug. 29

Talladega Superspeedway and the American Red Cross team up again in the race to save lives for the 14thAnnual “Laps for Life” Blood Drive, Thursday, Aug. 29, from noon to 6 p.m. CDT in the Fox Sports 1 Dome, at the International Motorsports Hall of Fame just outside the track.

Every presenting blood donor will receive a variety of items including a custom Laps for Life T-shirt, two tickets to the Sugarlands Shine 250 NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series Playoff race on Oct. 12, a tour of both the International Motorsports Hall of Fame (self-guided) and Talladega Superspeedway, and a chance to win a ride around the 2.66-mile track in a Talladega Superspeedway vehicle. Raffle prizes will also be given away throughout the blood drive.

The American Red Cross highly encourages all eligible donors to consider giving blood to ensure communities are prepared to meet the diverse needs of all of the patients. Blood is needed for a variety of reasons – accident and burn victims, heart surgery and organ transplant patients, and so much more.

“Our volunteer donors and sponsors are the only source of blood for patients,” said Ronnika A. McFall, external communications manager for the Red Cross Alabama and Central Gulf Coast Blood Services Region. “We appreciate the Talladega Superspeedway team for partnering with us to create this fun tradition of rolling up a sleeve at the speedway and helping to ensure a stable blood supply.”
