Gatorade Victory Lane Begins to Take Shape in the Talladega Garage Experience, Part of Transformation – The Talladega Superspeedway Infield Project

The brand-new winner’s circle in the new Gatorade Victory Lane is taking form as construction efforts forTransformation – The Talladega Superspeedway Infield Project presented by Graybar are in full force. Birmingham, AL’s Hoar Construction, leading Phase II of the project, is making major headway on the Talladega Garage Experience – set to debut during the track’s NASCAR Playoffs doubleheader weekend, Oct. 11-13.

Concrete has been poured for what will be a modern, ‘old-school style’ winner’s circle where the winning driver will pull the race car nose-first (as was done at Talladega throughout the 1970s and the early 1980s) into Gatorade Victory Lane. Just the circular area where the car will be parked will be more than 45 foot deep by just less than 30 foot wide. Fans with a Talladega Garage Experience admission will gain access to a reserved area in Gatorade Victory Lane and get the chance to witness the victors’ celebration after each race in Celebration Plaza.

Another major aspect coming along with great progress in the Garage Experience is the luxurious Pit Road Club. The foundation is set, and steel framing is being erected on the two-story, open-air venue that will house 600 guests who will get a birds-eye view of team pit stops, and be treated with a host of other amenities throughout the entire race weekend, including food and beverages.

Exterior skin and roofing has also been applied to two concession stands, the Guest Services building and two of the four Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Garages, where fans will get “up-close, locker-room” access inside the garage bays where the teams and drivers will work on their race cars during race weekend. The concession stands in the Talladega Garage Experience will offer incredible $4 or less Value-Priced Concessions (with the exception of the $9 Big One Meatball).

The mammoth Open Air Social Club, which will be complete with an array of ample, comfortable seating, a bar and a 41-foot diagonal video screen, is being graded and prepped for flooring. Fans who purchase a Garage Experience admission will receive access inside the 35,000 square foot area, where they will be just a few steps away from the two garages that will line both sides of the Open Air Social Club and house the top 22 drivers (11 in each) in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series.

The one-of-a-kind Talladega Garage Experience will stretch from the center of the Tri-Oval down near the start-finish line and will also have FREE Wi-Fi presented by Xtreme Concepts, Inc. It will be ready at the world’s greatest racing venue during October’s 1000Bulbs.com 500 (Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series) and Sugarlands Shine 250 (Gander Outdoors Truck Series). In addition, the Experience will feature interactive attractions and enhanced amenities for fans, sponsors, teams and stakeholders in the iconic Talladega infield.

The Transformation Infield Project presented by Graybar is part of International Speedway Corporation’s (Talladega’s parent company) long-term capital allocation plan and reinvestment into its major motorsports complexes. DLR Group is the architect of the entire project while Hoar Construction continues to spearhead Phase II. GT Grandstands (Plant City, FL) is constructing the Race Operations tower, which, too, continues to see much progression high above the Tri-Oval, as well as the Pit Road Club Suites.
