For the eighth time, Kyle Busch had the winning lottery ticket on Friday at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Busch turned in a dominating performance in his first Charlotte race of the year, capturing a dominant victory in the North Carolina Education Lottery 200.

Busch’s 56th career NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series win, his fifth in as many tries this season and his sixth in a row, came at the expense of runner-up Brennan Poole and third-place finisher Stewart Friesen. Ben Rhodes was fourth with polesitter Matt Crafton fifth.

Friday marked Busch’s final start of the year in NASCAR’s third-highest division – but the veteran driver made it count.

Busch, the defending Coca-Cola 600 winner who will go for his second Monster Energy NASCAR All-Star Race triumph in three years on Saturday, led a race-high 102 laps and overcame a late restart to win after qualifying eighth – the furthest back Busch has started and won in a Charlotte Truck Series race since 2006.

KYLE BUSCH, NO. 51 CESSNA TOYOTA TUNDRA (Race winner): “We had a really fast Tundra tonight. (Crew chief) Rudy (Fugle) and the boys really tuned it up. With some long runs, a lot of guys were falling off but our truck kept going and had speed all night long. Overall, we had decent pit stops to keep ourselves in contention. It’s good to be here where we should be and good to go 5-for-5 this year.”
