- TRUEX AT AUTO CLUB SPEEDWAY: Martin Truex Jr. has one victory, two top-five finishes and six top-10s in 18 career Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS) starts at Auto Club Speedway. Both of his top-five finishes have come in the past two visits to the track. The Mayetta, N.J. native has led 198 laps combined in the past two Auto Club races.
- DEFENDING WINNER: Truex dominated the weekend at Auto Club Speedway last March by winning the pole, both stages and the race in his first victory of the 2018 campaign. He led a race-high 125 laps on the way to his first win at the two-mile track.
- JANUARY TEST: Auto Club Speedway served as the site of Truex’s first on-track activity with the No. 19 Joe Gibbs Racing team when the group participated in a two-day Goodyear tire test at the track on January 9-10.
- PHOENIX RECAP: Last Sunday at ISM Raceway, Truex started ninth and worked his way into the top five early before a speeding penalty sent the No. 19 Camry to the back during stage one. He managed to rally for a 15th-place finish in the first stage and fourth in the second stage. After restarting 12thwith 74 laps remaining, Truex methodically worked his way to a second-place finish.
- WALK OF FAME: As the 2018 race winner, Truex will be added to Auto Club Speedway’s Walk of Fame Friday morning at 9 a.m. local time. The event will take place at Gate B just outside the track.
- MEDIA AVAILABILITY: Truex will visit the Auto Club Speedway media center Friday at 12:15 p.m. local time to meet with the media.
- BASS PRO SHOPS: Bass Pro Shops will be featured as primary sponsor of the No. 19 Camry this Sunday in Fontana. - JGR AT AUTO CLUB SPEEDWAY: Joe Gibbs Racing owns a pair of wins at Auto Club Speedway. In 81 combined starts, the organization has tallied 18 top-five finishes and 34 top-10s.

- “Our team is really looking forward to getting to California this week. It’s one of my favorite tracks and I felt good about the test back in January. Obviously the weather is going to be different and there will be more than three cars like at the test, but we feel like we’ve learned a lot about the package since then. We need to go in there Friday and unload strong and carry that through the weekend. I’m excited to see if we can go back to back there because it’s really turned into one of the most fun tracks on the circuit.”
