Seven-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Jimmie Johnson and fan-favorite Bubba Wallace have announced they will join the Pre Race Experience at Martinsville Speedway ahead of the STP 500 on March 24.
Johnson, the active leader in Cup Series wins at Martinsville, and Wallace, a two-time Truck Series winner at Martinsville looking for his first Cup Grandfather Clock, will bring their expertise to the Pre Race stage as they participate in a moderated question-and-answer session exclusive to Pre Race Experience pass holders on the frontstretch.
“Jimmie Johnson will forever be a legend to fans at Martinsville Speedway who have witnessed him claim so many wins here over the years, while Bubba has shown he too knows his way around this place,” Speedway President Clay Campbell said. “Both drivers will offer fans some unique insight on racing at Martinsville and what ownership of our iconic Grandfather Clock trophy is like.
“While fans come for the racing, we want the day to be an experience and by giving them the opportunity to hear from two drivers who are with two of the top organizations in the sport, we are doing just that.”
Johnson and Wallace will be joined by Paul Menard, Ricky Stenhouse Jr., Erik Jones, Clint Bowyer and Ryan Preece in moderated question-and-answer sessions.
The Pre Race Experience gives fans the chance to watch driver introductions from the track, along with a morning full of fun and excitement on the frontstretch.
In addition to the emceed question-and-answer sessions, the Pre Race Experience offers fans the opportunity to walk the frontstretch on race morning, sign the start/finish line, and enjoy music, games and prizes.
The cost of the Pre Race Experience is $30 for adults and $15 for youth 17-and-under.
The driver question-and-answer sessions, music, games and prizes will be held on the frontstretch beginning at 10:30 a.m. and will remain open until the conclusion of driver introductions.
