The famed Texas Motorplex will kick off the Summit Racing Equipment Mid-West Pro Mod Series on March 8-9 with the Pro Mod Madness two day event. The race featuring modern and classic American body styles and carrying every major engine combination including nitrous, capable of reaching speed in excess of 200 mph is a free ticketed event. The series is built on rivalries and bringing driving and tuning skills to the starting line.
“Our goal is to start season with an exciting event and it doesn’t get much more exciting than Pro Mod Madness,” said Andy Carter, Texas Motorplex General Manager. “These cars are some of the most spectacular race cars in the country hitting speeds over 200 mph in the 1/8 mile, which is only 660 feet. We are providing free tickets so it will be a great value for motorsports fans or really anyone in the DFW area that is interested in a fun family event.”
Highlighted by veteran drivers, including the likes of Keith Haney, Justin Jones, Jeff Jones, Wayne Roberts, Eddie Rogers, Jim Sackuvich and more fans will be treated to racing action throughout the day as these pros wheel their impeccably prepared machines to 3.8-second passes. Unpredictable and radical, Pro Mod racing is quickly becoming one of the most exciting forms of motorsports in the country.
“This is the second year we are racing at Texas Motorplex,” said Keith Haney, founder of the series and one of the top competitors. “Last year we moved the event from another track less than a month before the race and still had an amazing event with a great crowd and racing action. We knew we wanted to come back so we are excited to start the season March 8-9.”
“Everybody is geared up and ready to go,” added Haney. “There will be new cars but the rivalries will still be on display. You might shake a guy’s hand in the staging lanes but all bets are off when you pull up to the starting line. You will see staging duels and close ETs. We have set this series up to be about the driver’s skill and the tuner’s skill. You have to race to the track and it will be exciting.”
The Texas Motorplex spectator gates will open at 5:00 p.m. on Friday and Pro Mods will have two qualifiers at 5:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday gates will open at 10:00 a.m. with Pro Mods running two more qualifiers at 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Free tickets can be downloaded directly at www.texasmotorplex.com or from the Texas Motorplex Facebook page. Parking will be $10 per vehicle.
MWPMS will showcase nine events throughout the 2019 racing season, beginning March 8-9 at the famed Texas Motorplex in Dallas, Texas. The series will also conclude at the same facility November 7-9 following the Second Annual “Elite 16” All Star event. All races will be streamed live online via Bangshift.com . The recent addition of Top Sportsman and Top Dragster classes will add extra excitement to the 2019 season.
