JR Motorsports announced today that Switch (NYSE: SWCH), the global technology infrastructure corporation that develops hyperscale data center ecosystems for elite colocation, enterprise hybrid cloud, and connectivity solutions, will be the primary sponsor of the No. 9 Chevrolet with driver Noah Gragson for the 2019 NASCAR Xfinity Series season-opening event on Feb. 16 at Daytona International Speedway. For Gragson, this partnership with Switch adds another chapter in the long-standing relationship between company and driver.
“To have Switch come on board our No. 9 Chevrolet for my first race with JR Motorsports is extremely special,” said Gragson. “Switch has played such an instrumental part in my career up to this point, whether that be in the late models or the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series, it really means a lot to continue to work with Rob Roy (CEO and Founder of Switch) and get this opportunity to carry their logo in Daytona as we start the 2019 season.”
The combination of Switch and Gragson has been strong in the past, as the pairing previously went to victory lane at the historic Martinsville Speedway in the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series in 2017, as well as in two of the most prestigious Super Late Model races in the country, the 46th running of the Winchester 400 in 2017 and the 51st running of the Snowball Derby in 2018.
“Switch is proud to sponsor Noah Gragson, whose remarkable talent and precision racing strategy continues to propel his already stellar career,” said Switch CIO Missy Young. “It is a wonderful opportunity to have Switch’s Karma Wheel logo supporting Noah and the entire Dale Earnhardt Jr. team in the Xfinity Series.”
Switch was also the primary supporter for Gragson during his three NXS starts in 2018, earning two top-fives, three top-10s and an overall average finish of 4.3 in the process.
“We would like to welcome Switch to our family here at JR Motorsports,” said Kelley Earnhardt Miller, JRM general manager “It’s always great to bring in a new partner to our organization heading into a new season, especially one like Switch, which has been deeply invested in both Noah and motorsports in general for a number of years. We are looking forward to seeing what we can do with the Switch colors on board our No. 9 Chevrolet in Daytona.”
The 2019 NXS season goes green at Daytona on Saturday, Feb. 16 at 2:30 p.m. EST on FS1, MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio Channel 90.
