Lucas Oil, which has served as the race sponsor for the season opener to the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards at Daytona International Speedway since 2009, announced a multi-year extension with the “World Center of Racing” to continue to serve as the title sponsor.
The 80-lap, 200-mile race scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 9, which mixes experienced veterans with the rising stars in stock car racing, will continue to be known as the Lucas Oil 200 Driven By General Tire.
“We’re proud to continue our relationship with Lucas Oil as the title sponsor for the ARCA season opener,” Daytona International Speedway President Chip Wile said. “The Lucas Oil 200 Driven By General Tire is part of an exciting first weekend of stock car racing. We look forward to continuing to work with Lucas Oil to market their brand and connect with our race fans.”
“The Lucas Oil 200 is always exciting for us because it’s a fantastic event to kickoff Daytona Speedweeks,” said Lucas Oil Director of Motorsports Tom Bogner. “Daytona is a fantastic facility and we’ve been fortunate to experience a lot of success both on the track and off of it as we head into our 11th year of sponsoring the traditional opener to the ARCA racing season.”
Over the years, the Lucas Oil 200 Driven By General Tire has produced a long list of high-profile winners including Iggy Katona, Kyle Petty, Benny Parsons, Tim Richmond, Joe Ruttman, Mike Wallace, Ryan Newman, Kyle Busch and eight-time champion Bobby Gerhart.
