Watkins Glen International President Michael Printup offered the following statement on the passing ofDavid Pearson, legendary NASCAR driver and 3-time NASCAR Grand National Series (now Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series) champion.
“David Pearson will be remembered as one of the greatest competitors in our sport’s history, and all of us at Watkins Glen International have his family and friends in our thoughts today. The iconic images of ‘The Silver Fox’ winning three Southern 500’s and a Daytona 500 on his way to 105 victories and three championships during an incredible career will live on forever.”
Pearson made his lone Grand National Series start at Watkins Glen International in 1964, where he finished 6th.
