Daniel Suárez – No. 19 ARRIS Toyota Camry Preview – First Data 500 at Martinsville Speedway

  • AT MARTINSVILLE: Daniel Suárez has earned top-20 finishes in his past two trips to Martinsville Speedway. In the fall race last year, he started and finished 15th. Earlier this year, the Monterrey, Mexico native finished 18th at Martinsville despite suffering right-front fender damage after being collected in an accident late in the race.
  • KANSAS RECAP: Last Sunday at Kansas Speedway, Suárez finished 24th after having to make two unscheduled pit stops in the opening laps when his Camry brushed the turn-two wall on Lap 3. The damage forced the No. 19 driver to make a pair of unscheduled pit stops early in the race and he spent the remainder of the event trying to battle back.
  • DAVE ROGERS AT MARTINSVILLE: Crew chief Dave Rogers has earned one win to go along with six top-five finishes and seven top-10s racing at Martinsville Speedway. The victory came working with Denny Hamlin in March 2015. In 15 starts as a crew chief at Martinsville, Rogers’ drivers have led 461 laps.
  • ARRIS COLORS: The No. 19 Toyota Camry will feature the familiar ARRIS colors for this weekend’s race at Martinsville Speedway. ARRIS, which has supported Suárez and Joe Gibbs Racing since 2015, prides itself on powering a smart, connected world. The company’s leading hardware, software and services transform the way that people and businesses stay informed, entertained and connected.
  • JGR AT MARTINSVILLE: Joe Gibbs Racing owns 10 wins at Martinsville Speedway, including Kyle Busch’s victory in the fall race last year. Altogether, the organization has amassed 43 top-five finishes and 67 top-10s in 126 combined starts at the historic track.

On racing at Martinsville…

  • “Martinsville is definitely a very difficult track and one that I’m still working to improve on. After last week, we need to be strong and start well to have a chance at a good finish. It’s important to have good track position because it’s hard to pass there. Working with Dave (Rogers) has been fun and gives me a lot of confidence that we can be strong in the race, so I’m excited to go there and see what we can do.”
