Papa Murphy’s Take ‘n’ Bake Becomes “Preferred Pizza” of Talladega Superspeedway

Talladega Superspeedway today announced that locally-owned stores of the Birmingham and HuntsvillePapa Murphy’s will serve as the “Preferred Pizza” of Talladega Superspeedway as part of a multi-year partnership. Fans will have plenty of opportunities to devour a delicious slice of Papa Murphy’s pizza during the track’s doubleheader NASCAR Playoff weekend, Oct. 12-14.

The company has garnered numerous awards in the food industry, including a #1 ranking for “Overall Takeout Capabilities,” according to Technomic’s Consumer Brand Metrics, 2017.

Through the partnership, Papa Murphy’s hopes to grow its presence in the Southeast by offering fans the chance to purchase pizza by the slice during Talladega Superspeedway’s Talladega 250 for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (Oct. 13) and the 1000Bulbs.com 500 (Oct. 14) for the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series. Fans will be able to order their tasty meal at several track locations, including the Anniston Grandstand, Tri-Oval Tower, Birmingham Tower, O.V. Hill South Tower, Fan Zone and Miller Lite Bar Area. Pizza slice choices include cheese and pepperoni.

“Any time you can partner with an organization like Talladega Superspeedway, you can’t help but feel a sense of pride,” said Marshall James, the Papa Murphy’s franchisee for Birmingham, Huntsville and Raleigh/Fayetteville (NC). “All of our team members, in all the communities we serve here in Alabama, are just thrilled. Talladega puts on such a great race. We’re going to make sure the fans get great pizza!”

While it will not be available for Talladega’s upcoming race weekend, Papa Murphy’s plans to implement delivery services to fans in select areas at the track for future events.

Prior to its deal with NASCAR’s Most Competitive Track, Papa Murphy’s sold pizza slices at Auto Club Dragway motorsports events (Fontanta, CA) in 2016 and sponsored former NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) driver Tyler Tanner.

The exhilarating doubleheader NASCAR Playoff weekend will feature two critical races with post-season implications. In the Saturday Talladega 250, the field of championship-eligible contenders for the NCWTS title will be cut from eight to six at the checkered flag. Sunday’s 1000Bulbs.com 500 will be the second race (of three) in the Round of 12 in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs.
