A new addition will highlight the victory lane celebration after Sunday’s inaugural Bank of America ROVAL™ 400 on the Charlotte Motor Speedway ROVAL™. For the first time, Charlotte Motor Speedway will award an eye-catching Manufacturer’s Trophy to the winning manufacturer. Forty race teams powered by Toyota, Chevrolet or Ford will duel on Charlotte’s 17-turn, 2.28-mile ROVAL™ to decide which manufacturer receives the impressive new trophy.
The Stephen Gould-designed, 40-pound trophy is made of glass and acrylic and features the car symbol inside the trophy from the famous Charlotte Motor Speedway “globe” logo, with the “globe” comprising the top of the trophy.
The Manufacturer’s Trophy complements the striking look of the Bank of America ROVAL™ 400 winner’s trophy, another Stephen Gould design.
“If you think about the challenges that a team, driver and OEM have here at Charlotte Motor Speedway, they’re faced with the high-octane Monster Energy NASCAR All-Star Race, the longest, toughest race in the Coca-Cola 600 and now a technical, physical challenge with the Bank of America ROVAL™ 400,” said Charlotte Motor Speedway Executive Vice President Greg Walter.
“A key ingredient to success in racing is the manufacturer. When a manufacturer’s driver wins, the manufacturer deserves something to honor the victory. We’re proud to be able to present this unique trophy to the winning manufacturer of today’s Bank of America ROVAL™ 400 as well as in all of our three annual marquee NASCAR races in the future.”
Beginning with Sunday’s race, the trophy will be awarded at each Monster Energy NASCAR All-Star Race, Coca-Cola 600 and Bank of America ROVAL™ 400 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
