Eldora Expands Campgrounds For 48th World 100 Reservations for New Sites Begin Wednesday, August 29 at 10 a.m.

With a record number of camping reservations for the 48th running of the World 100 on September 6th-7th-8th, Eldora Speedway officials have been hard at work to accommodate race fans from around the world who want to be assured they have a reserved campsite.
Over 140 additional campsites will be available for $50 beginning at 10 a.m. Eastern at www.EldoraSpeedway.com or by calling (937) 338-3815. Reservations close at 11:59 p.m. on Saturday. Remaining campsites will be available to drive-up guests from attendants beginning Sunday.
Many of the new sites are located in Northside Camp & Park, some of which are located at the landmark silo across from Lot 3. All sites are suitable for RVs, trailers and tent campers. New permanent roadways and fresh gravel have been added in all Eldora-owned campgrounds.
The traditional Lot 5 Landrush for the free camping located in Lot 5 of Eldora’s main grounds will take the green flag at 6 p.m. this Friday night (August 31st).
Racing action for the week begins Sunday night (September 2nd) with the 11th Annual Baltes Classic by Coor’s Light honoring Eldora’s founders, the late Earl Baltes and his wife Berneice.  The Sunoco American Late Models will run for $5,000-to-win with the DIRTcar UMP Modifieds and Eldora Stocks rounding out the card.
Preliminary action for the World 100 kicks off Thursday night (September 6th) with a full program and Twin-25 lap features paying $10,000-to-win.  Using the ‘Every Lap Matters’ format, competitors will score points on Thursday and again on Friday in qualifying, heat races and their feature event seeding them into Saturday’s traditional six heat races determining the starting lineup for the World 100.
A record $436,800 in prize money is up for grabs with $51,000 going to the winner of the 100-lap race.  Earl Baltes first posted $4,000 for the winner of the inaugural World 100 in 1971, pledging to add $1,000 to the winner’s purse each year following. The defending winner is Jonathan Davenport, a native of Blairsville, Georgia who now calls South Carolina home.
Tickets and campsites for the World 100 or any other event can be purchased at www.EldoraSpeedway.com or by calling (937) 338-3815.
