Notes and Quotes:

  • Driver standings: 8th (455 points; -127 back)
  • Truex: “We ended up 13th with our Phantom Fireworks Chevy at Daytona and we got one stage point. So overall it was a decent day with a wrecked car. We got caught up in a wreck and these guys did a really good job of just repairing the car. The steering wheel was six inches to the right after we wrecked so it was a handful for sure. But I’m just proud of these guys and everybody at Phantom Fireworks for giving us this car that we, even with being wrecked, could go back to the front and be competitive. So we’ll take this and to come out of Daytona and not be on the trailer before the race is over is always good. We’ll take this, go to Kentucky and hopefully be in the top 10.”
