Pocono Raceway has renewed their partnership with the Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission. In recent years, the PA Fish & Boat Commission (PFBC) has hosted several key fan-engaging events during race weekends. This partnership comes days following the opening weekend of bass season in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Fans are encouraged to visit Pocono Raceway’s official partner, Gander Outdoors, to purchase their fishing licenses.
“The PFBC has been a valued partner of ours these last few years,” said Pocono Raceway President Ben May. “They have assisted us with key youth-based initiatives including a fishing day with Tony Stewart and our Lehigh Valley Children’s Hospital Kids Club, fishing activities during the Gander Outdoors race weekends and giveaways to fans including a fishing kayak, weekend getaways and other items. We are excited about our renewed partnership and our joint, fan-driven initiatives that will be announce prior to our July NASCAR race weekend.”
“We are pleased to continue our relationship with Pocono Raceway and look forward to joining forces to promote the great fishing and boating opportunities in the Commonwealth”, said PFBC Executive Director John Arway. “With the warmer weather and longer days of summer moving in, anglers are geared up for bass season, which kicked off on Saturday, June 16 across the Commonwealth. One of the main reasons bass is popular is because the Commonwealth has so many fantastic spots for anglers to catch smallmouth and largemouth bass, from creeks and rivers to large ponds and lakes. Pennsylvania has over 86,000 miles of streams and rivers to fish and more than 4,000 lakes and reservoirs, most of which contain bass.”
