Sunoco Rookie of Year candidate, Vinnie Miller, will be making his first career start at Auto Club Speedway (ACS) in Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series California 300.
Miller, driver of the No. 01 JAS Expedited Trucking Chevrolet Camaro for team JD Motorsports with Gary Keller, is hoping that his past experience at the similar Michigan International Speedway, where he led his first laps in the ARCA racing series, will help him have a successful weekend at ACS.
“I’m really excited to go to Auto Club Speedway this weekend,” said Miller. “I’ve heard the track is really rough and bumpy, but it drives like Michigan (International Speedway). I had a really good run last year at Michigan, so I am hoping I will be able to pick up the lines of the track quickly. I’ll once again lean on my teammates on getting up to speed, and I’ve been watching races from the past few years to help me before we get there. I can’t thank the guys on this No. 01 JAS Expedited Trucking, Johnny Davis team enough for all the hard work they have put in during the West Coast Swing. I would really like to give them a good finish this weekend in California.”
NASCAR Xfinity Series practice is scheduled for 12:35 p.m. and 2:35 p.m. (PST) Friday. Qualifying will start at 10:35 a.m. (PST) on Saturday, and the California 300 will get the green flag at 2:00 p.m. (5:00 p.m. ET) on FS1.
