Global IT services leader DXC Technology has signed an agreement with Texas Motor Speedway to become the entitlement sponsor of the Verizon IndyCar Series race held annually in June at the world-renowned motorsports facility.
“America’s Original Nighttime IndyCar Race,” a staple event at Texas Motor Speedway since the venue opened in 1997, will be rebranded the DXC Technology 600 and is scheduled for Saturday, June 9. The DXC Technology 600 will be the ninth race of the Verizon IndyCar Series’ 17-race schedule. It will air live on NBCSN beginning at 7 p.m. CT.
Financial terms and length of the contract were not disclosed.
DXC Technology will be inheriting one of the most electrifying races on the Verizon IndyCar Series schedule in the nation’s fifth-largest media market. In 2016, Graham Rahal edged James Hinchcliffe by 0.0080 of a second in the closest race of any major series on Texas Motor Speedway’s 1.5-mile oval. It was the fifth closest in Indy-car history. Texas Motor Speedway has been the site of three of the top 10 closest all-time finishes in the sport and seven of the top 30.
DXC Technology already has a notable presence in the Verizon IndyCar Series with Team Penske. In its first season as a motorsports sponsor in 2017, DXC Technology became a partner with Team Penske and 2016 series champion Simon Pagenaud. DXC Technology extended its partnership for 2018 with the company serving as the primary sponsor on Pagenaud’s car for six races, including the DXC Technology 600, and as an associate sponsor on the remaining races for the No. 22 team. The company also provides Team Penske with technology support.

“Our new sponsorship with the Texas Motor Speedway is a great fit with DXC Technology’s brand proposition and strategic business goals, as well as our partnership with Team Penske,” said Gary Stockman, chief marketing and communications officer, DXC Technology. “We have a strong client and employee base in Texas, and the DXC Technology 600 will be a marquee event for them and fans across the region and beyond. We’re pleased to be a part of ‘America’s Original Nighttime Race’.”
