Chase Elliott to Join the STP 500 Pre Race Experience at Martinsville Speedway

Chase Elliott made his Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series debut at Martinsville Speedway in 2015. Since then, he has learned the perils and joys of racing at the Half Mile of Mayhem and will be looking to do something his father Bill never did at the STP 500 on March 25 – win at Martinsville Speedway.

As a part of the STP 500 Pre Race Experience, the driver of the No. 9 for Hendrick Motorsports will get to know fans during a question-and-answer session on the frontstretch.

“Chase is certainly a rising star in NASCAR and makes a great addition to the Pre Race Experience,” Martinsville Speedway President Clay Campbell said. “He came close to earning his first grandfather clock just a few months ago and we think he will be a contender at Martinsville for years to come. We are thrilled to have him as a part of this fan-focused event.”

Elliott, the 2016 Sunoco Rookie of the Year and two-time NASCAR Playoff contender, will join Darrell ‘Bubba’ Wallace Jr. as a part of the Pre Race Experience. Six more drivers will be named in the coming weeks.

The Pre Race Experience gives fans the chance to watch driver introductions from the track, along with a morning full of fun and excitement on the track.

In addition to the emceed question-and-answer sessions, the Pre Race Experience offers fans the opportunity to walk the frontstretch on race morning, sign the start/finish line, have a photo opportunity in mock Victory Lane, and enjoy music, games and prizes.

The cost of the Pre Race Experience is $25 for adults and $15 for youth 17-and-under.

The driver question-and-answer sessions, music, games and prizes will be held on the frontstretch beginning at 10:00 a.m. and will remain open until the conclusion of driver introductions.

Admission to the Pre Race Experience does not include a ticket for the STP 500.

The STP 500 weekend presented by whosyourdriver.org is March 23-25.

Advance ticket prices for the STP 500 begin at just $46 with youth tickets for fans 17-and-under costing just $25 regardless of location. Youth 17-and-under will be admitted free to the Alpha Energy Solutions 250 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race as well as Friday’s practice day.

The weekend starts with a practice day for the truck series on Friday, followed by the Hauler Parade.

On Saturday, the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series is in action with the Alpha Energy Solutions 250. Following the race the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series will qualify for Sunday’s STP 500.

The STP 500 is the first Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Race on the East Coast, after the “West Coast Swing” and the first short-track race of the season. Last year, Brad Keselowski won the race, becoming the first driver to win in a Ford at Martinsville since 2002.

Tickets to both races are on sale and may be purchased by calling 877.RACE.TIX or online at www.martinsvillespeedway.com.
